VW Lupo Throttle Body
When the throttle body is defective the engine goes off after accelerating fast and then leaving the accelerator or the acceleration may be discontinuous. Clean or substitute che throttle body that is located underneath the air filter box. Cost: about 500€ orignal part; 100-200€ non original version.
VW Lupo Oxigen sensor (O2 sensor or Lambda sensor)
When the exhausted gasses are black or the CO level in them increases above the limit the O2 sensor may be dirty or defective. This is a candle shape sensor and is located underneath the engine and is inserted at the output of the exhausted gasses collector connected with a 4 wire cable (gasoline 1.4 16V version). Cost: about 100€.
VW Lupo Water temperature sensor
When the car engine fails to start when the engine is hot the water temperature sensor may be defective and should be replaced. This is a small sensor and is located at the output of the cooling water collector (big black pipe) close to the top-left part of the engine. Cost: about 40€.
